Yoga in the Community
This 6-week workshop is designed for anyone who would like to refine their current practice or for those beginner yogi's, with little to no experience, who have always had a fascination with the yoga world.
The basis of the workshop is to teach a variety of postures (asanas) in a safe manner and work to increase the overall health and wellness of the student in a non-harming way.
We will incorporate breath (pranayama) into each practice as we transition from one posture to the next. Using breath allows the body to relax thus really getting into the asana. Pranayama is also a technique that is used to help lower physical, mental and emotional stress as it allows your body to relax and focus on what is happening at that moment.
There will be a strong focus on developing strength and flexibility in your body. Your balance will be improved and your confidence about your ability to practice yoga will have increased by the end of this 6-week program
Props, such as blocks and straps, will be used with a variety of postures to allow the student to perform that posture safely. If you have your own props please feel free to bring them to each class but there will also be some available to you should you require them.
